PTZ Camera Selection Guide – Key Considerations for Rotation Speed and Angle

The rotation speed and rotation angle of a PTZ camera are key parameters that affect surveillance performance and operating efficiency.

PTZ Camera Selection Guide – Key Considerations for Rotation Speed and Angle

Rotation Speed Selection:

- AC PTZ: The horizontal rotation speed is generally 4°~6°/s, and the vertical rotation speed is 3°~6°/s. High-speed models can reach 15°/s horizontally, but the load capacity will be reduced accordingly.

- DC PTZ: Equipped with a stepping motor, it has a maximum horizontal rotation speed of 40~50°/s and a vertical rotation speed of 10~24°/s. It also supports variable speed control (adjusted via 0~36V voltage), which is suitable for quickly capturing surveillance targets.

Rotation Angle Optimization:

- The horizontal rotation angle is mostly 360°, and limits should be set according to the installation method in actual use (e.g., only 180° is needed for wall mounting).

- Vertical rotation angle: +30° to -90° for top mounting, and ±180° for side mounting. The daily common range is +20° to -90°, which can improve the operating efficiency of the PTZ camera.

Reasonably matching the rotation speed and angle can extend the service life of the PTZ camera and reduce equipment energy consumption.
